As an American expat living in the captivating city of Rome, I've traded the familiar comforts of Chicago and Florida for a life immersed in Italian culture. It all began with what was supposed to be an extended vacation, a "sabbatical" if you will, but fate had other plans. On my very first night in Rome, I fell head over heels for the city, and on the second, I met the woman who would become my wife. It wasn't long before I returned to the States, settled my affairs, and secured a visa to make Rome my permanent home.
