Based in World
Founded in 2011 by journalists Rafael Sette Câmara, Luíza Antunes, and Natália Becattini, 360meridianos started as a personal blog documenting their round-the-world trip, which included a six-month stay in India and traversing all global meridians. The name, intentionally omitting "travel," reflects a broader engagement with the world. The blog evolved from a personal project into an established online resource, which now reaches hundreds of thousands of readers monthly. In 2015, the platform formalized as 360meridianos LTDA, operating remotely and serving as the primary income source for its founders. At its core, 360meridianos serves as a "Culture Viageira" (Travel Culture) platform, fostering reflection and debate on travel, global diversity, and sustainability. It emphasizes discovery, empathy, and learning through a philosophy of ethical tourism, committed to avoiding harm to natural resources, cultural heritage, and the exploitation of people and animals. Content includes travel tips, special reports, and chronicles, exploring diverse styles from backpacking and adventure to economic, ethnic/racial, gastronomic, couple, and solo travel. Covering sixty countries across all continents, a key project was the 2019 "Origens BR" expedition, which explored pre-Cabraline archaeological sites in Brazil and was broadcast on Travel Box Brazil. Beyond editorial content, 360meridianos also assists travelers with trip organization, offering bookings for hotels, insurance, and tours.
