Based in World
From a young age, I've been captivated by the allure of travel, particularly within my home country, the Philippines. What started as a personal passion evolved into a fulfilling career dedicated to promoting tourism and preserving cultural heritage. In the early 2000s, I embraced the world of travel blogging, sharing my experiences and insights with fellow adventurers. Little did I know that this endeavor would pave the way for incredible opportunities and a chance to make a lasting impact. Over the years, I've had the privilege of expanding my knowledge and expertise through education and various roles within the travel and tourism industries. A Fulbright scholarship allowed me to pursue a PhD in Hospitality and Tourism Management at Purdue University, an experience that broadened my perspective and deepened my understanding of the field. Today, I proudly serve as the secretary general for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) National Commission of the Philippines and the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) International Cultural Tourism Committee, contributing to the preservation and promotion of cultural treasures. As an assistant professor at the University of the Philippines Asian Institute of Tourism, I have the opportunity to inspire the next generation of tourism professionals. Sharing my knowledge and experiences with students is incredibly rewarding, and I'm committed to fostering a passion for sustainable and responsible tourism. Whether I'm exploring hidden gems within the Philippines or engaging with international organizations, my goal remains the same: to promote cultural understanding, preserve heritage, and create meaningful travel experiences for all.
