As a blogger, I've always believed that the world is best understood with a glass in hand. My journey into the world of wine began unexpectedly, much like a spontaneous trip to a far-off land. What started as a casual interest quickly evolved into a full-blown passion, leading me down a path of discovery, education, and countless memorable experiences. I co-founded Wine Folly with Madeline Puckette in 2011, and it was initially conceived as a wine club—a community that would explore a new wine region each month while learning valuable insights about the drink we all love. The club started slowly, but the visual communication style I developed for our educational materials really took off. With a background in design, I was able to create infographics and graphics that demystified wine, making it accessible and fun for everyone. Wine Folly quickly pivoted into a media and information resource. We started creating posters, wine maps, and eventually, books! My goal is to provide foundational knowledge that empowers people to drink better wine. I cover a wide range of topics, always starting with what's in our glasses. I delve into seemingly simple questions, like "What makes wine red?" and conduct detailed research to provide pragmatic information that's immediately usable. Whether you're a novice or a quick learner, I'm here to help you improve your wine smarts. Join me as we uncork the world of wine, one glass at a time.
